NETWORKING in ITES

Networking can be defined as connecting a computer, a laptop over internet to different types of networks over different applications.

Networking can be categorized into Local Area Network (LAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN).

The Base of Networking is laid with the Equipment with Hubs, Bridges, Switches and Routers.

The Hub is a non-intelligent device which can only broadcast one domain in Personal Area Network, Campus Area Network and Local Area Network.

Switches are intelligent device which can broadcast many collision domains. Switches are manufactured with Application Specific integrated circuit (ASIC) inbuilt future.

The ASIC in switches recognize the MAC Address of the PC, Laptop and Wi-Fi connected to it and helps the external network device for pocket transmitting to DHCP Configured Devices.

The Switches Plays a vital role in IP Management, Internet Speed and Computer Resource Security for a Local Area Network and Storage Area Network.

Router is a more intelligent device and programmable device were OSPF, EIGRP, DHCP Protocols are configured.

Router has the capacity of handling many collision domain and many broadcast domain at the same time over a Large Networks.

WAN is defined as Wide Area Network covers Communication Network and Computer Network.

WAN can also be defined as connecting Large network, Medium network and Small network over internet.

The Internet Service Provider (ISP) mostly uses the router.
